From Aug. 17-29, children and their families can take part in a self-led stroll through Reis Park while they read “For Just One Day” by Laura Leuck, the library said.

Pages of the book will be posted on laminated signs along a trail, starting at the front of the library. At the end, participants can tear off a small tag and present it to library staff (during library hours) in exchange for a chocolate chip cookie, supplied by Friends of the Library.

The library hours are Mondays, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The library is closed on Sundays.

The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vt., and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library in Montpelier.

The library is at 82 Primrose St. (Route 139), Katonah. For more information, call (914)-232-5717.
