WESTBOROUGH, Mass -- Veterans Day kicks off what is predicted to be a warm week, and one without a storm with that merits its own name.

Veterans Day will be celebrated Monday, with an observance from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. All schools, the public library and town offices will be closed for the federal holiday. 

There are no Westborough High School sports games this week, but the youth hockey league will be holding a meeting Monday night for parents and players.

Monday, Nov. 12

Veterans Day: Westborough public schools, library and town offices closed. 

Veterans Day Observance: 9 a.m.-11 a.m., Participants will meet at VFW Post 9013 and proceed to the Pine Grove Cemetery, Vietnam Memorial, Forbes Municipal Building and Westborough Rotary. 

Youth Hockey Meeting: 7 p.m. The Westborough seventh- and eighth-grade hockey team will hold a meeting for parents and players at the NorthStar Youth Forum conference room. Email coach Lou Flerra for more information.

Tuesday, Nov. 13

Bookbabies: 10:30 a.m. Story time for children ages 1-2 will be held in the children's room of the Westborough Public Library.

Preschool Storytime: 1:30 p.m. Story time for children of preschool age will be held in the children's room of the Westborough Public Library.

Board of Selectmen: 6 p.m. A BOS meeting will be held in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at Westborough Town Hall. 

Conservation Commission: 7 p.m. A meeting will be held in Room 36 on the third floor of the Forbes Municipal Building.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

Treatment Plant Board: 8:15 a.m. A meeting will be held in the conference room of the Wastewater Treatment Facility at 238 Turnpike Road.

Board of Assessors: 9 a.m. A meeting will be held in the Assessors Office at Westborough Town Hall.

Confronting Job Loss: 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. A series of interactive, supportive and educational coaching groups and workshops will be led by a certified life coach with more than 20 years' experience in the helping professions. Participants will acquire skills and strategies for effectively managing life transitions and creating positive changes in their lives. JCC, 45 Oak St.

School Committee: 6 p.m. A meeting will be held in Room 23 on the second floor of the Forbes Municipal Building.

AVRTHS School Advisory Council: 7 p.m. A meeting of the Assabet Valley Regional Techical High School Advisory Council will be held in the school committee meeting room at 215 Fitchburg St., Marlborough.

Thursday, Nov. 15

Book Discussion: 10:30 a.m., A book discussion will be held on the "House on Salt Hay Road" by Carin Clevidence in the Westborough Public Library meeting room.

Night of Holiday Shopping: 7 p.m.-9 p.m., The Westborough Newcomers Club will hold a night of holiday shopping at St. Luke's Parish Center. The club is asking local merchants to sell items, with all proceeds going to the club's community fund. For more info and a list of vendors, email the club or visit its website.

Friday, Nov. 16

Mortgage Day: 1 p.m.-3 p.m., Marlborough Savings Bank will host Mortgage Day. Questions about mortgages and the home-buying process will be answered by the bank's expert, Shaun Spada. Refreshments will be available at the 21 E. Main St. location.
