WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Local authors steal the show at Westborough Public Library this week, with two separate events scheduled.
On Monday, the Westborough Historical Society will host local authors, and on Wednesday the library will sponsor its own young authors series.

Monday, Jan. 28
Wastewater Public Hearing: 6 p.m. A public hearing will be held at the Westborough DPW to discuss the amendment of Westborough's wastewater treatment regulations. (Agenda)
Advisory Finance Committee Meeting: 7 p.m. A scheduled meeting will be held in the Selectmen's Meeting Room. (Agenda)
Local Authors Series: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Westborough's Historical Society will sponsor a young authors series at Westborough Public Library.
Tuesday, Jan. 29
Bookbabies: 10:30 a.m. Story time for children ages 1 and 2 will be held in the children's room of the Westborough Public Library.
Preschool Storytime: 1:30 p.m. Story time for children of pre-school age will be in the children's room of the Westborough Public Library.
Rec. Commission Meeting: 7 p.m. A special meeting will be held at Westborough's office of Recreation to discuss the sprint triathlon. (Agenda)
Boys basketball: 7 p.m. Westborough High (7-6) will go on the road to face Marlborough.
Girls basketball: 7 p.m. Westborough High (5-7) will host Marlborough.
Wednesday, Jan. 30
Young Authors Series: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Westborough Public Library will host another night of young authors talking about their books and careers.
Hockey: 8 p.m. Westborough High will host Hudson at North Star Youth Forum.
Thursday, Jan. 31
'Can Your Fines' Begins: 10 a.m. Throughout February, Westborough Public Library patrons with overdue book fines can pay them off with donations nonperishable food items, grocery gift cards, or cash to benefit the Westborough Food Pantry.
Two Time: 10:30 a.m. Story time for children ages 2 and 3 in the children's room of the Westborough Public Library.
Alpine Ski: 3:30 p.m. Westborough High will compete in a league meet at Ski Ward Hill.
Swimming: 3:30 p.m. Westborough High will compete in a league meet at Tantasqua High School.
Gibbons School Building Committee: 4:30 p.m. The committee will meet in the third-floor conference room of the Forbes Municipal Building to further discuss the middle school's renovations. (Agenda)
Best Face Forward: 6 p.m. She’s a Gem Boutique and Women of St. Luke’s (WOSL) team-up for their third annual Dress for Success/Worcester to help disadvantaged women get back to work. The event will be held at She's A Gem Boutique (21 South St.).
Friday, Feb. 1
Boys basketball: 7 p.m. Westborough High will host Hudson.
Girls basketball: 7 p.m. Westborough will go on the road to face Hudson.
