WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — By Tuesday night, one of Westborough's biggest question's will be answered: Who is the best free-throw shooter?
The annual K of C event for children ages 10-14 will be Tuesday at Gibbons Middle School beginning at 6 p.m. The winners of the boys' and girls' brackets will go to regional competitions.
Tuesday also is the deadline for nominations for those who intend to run for town office. Anyone interested must have nomination papers returned to the town clerk's office by the close of business that day.
Monday, Jan. 14
Free Federal 1040 EZ Filing: 9 a.m. H&R Block, 14 Milk St. will prepare 2012 Federal 1040 EZ forms. Walk-ins are welcome.
Council on Aging Meeting: 9:30 a.m. The council meets in the Westborough Senior Center. (Agenda)
Finance Committee Meeting: 7 p.m. The committee's scheduled meeting will include a discussion of the 2014 budget. (Agenda)
Gymnastics: Westborough High will compete in a tri-meet against Marlborough and Algonquin at Mass. Gymnastics Center.
Hockey: 8 p.m. Westborough High will host Leominster at North Star Youth Forum.

Bookbabies: 10:30 a.m. Story time for children ages 1-2 will be in the children's room of the Westborough Public Library.
Preschool Storytime: 1:30 p.m. Story time for children of pre-school age will be in the children's room of the Westborough Public Library.
Free Movie Series: 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Westborough Public Library will continue its free movie series. The movie is "Trouble with the Curve," starring Clint Eastwood.
Deadline to Turn in Nomination Papers: 5 p.m. Anyone wishing to run for public office in the 2013 town election must have their nomination papers, with 50 signatures, turned in to the town clerk's office by the close of business.
Board of Health Meeting: 5:30 p.m. A scheduled meeting of the board will be in Room 24 of the Forbes Municipal Building. (Agenda)
Free-Throw Competition: 6 p.m. The Westborough K of C will host its annual free-throw competition for kids ages 10-14 at Gibbons Middle School. Registration begins at 6 p.m.

Book Discussion: 10:30 a.m. There will be a book discussion at Westborough Public Library on "Still Alice" by Lisa Genova.
Indoor track: 5 p.m. Westborough High boys' and girls' track will face Doherty at Shrewsbury High School.
Tomassi Wine Dinner: 6:30 p.m. Tavolino's Restaurant (33 E. Main Street) will host a Tommasi wine dinner. Tickets are $70.
Friday, Jan. 18
Swimming: 3:30 p.m. Westborough High will face Wachusett at the Worcester JCC.
Girls' basketball: 6 p.m. Westborough High will host Quabbin.
