WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Columbus Day week is highlighted by yet another heavy Westborough sports schedule, as the top contenders begin to separate themselves.
Westborough volleyball, one of the top-ranked teams in the state, will host its annual Dig Pink volleyball game Tuesday to support breast cancer research.
National Depression Screening Day will be conducted by Westborough Youth and Family Services Thursday.

Tuesday, Oct. 9
Bookbabies: 10:30 a.m., Story time for children ages 1-2 will be at the Westborough Public Library.
Preschoolers: 1:30 p.m., Story time for children of pre-school age will be in the children's room of the Westborough Public Library.
Butterflies By Steven Moore: 1 p.m., The Westborough Woman's Club will have a presentation on Butterflies by Steven Moore. A light luncheon will be served at noon. It will be at the Congregational Church, West Main Street, Westborough.
Golf: 3:15 p.m., Undefeated Westborough High School hosts Marlborough at the Westborough CC in a match that was rescheduled from Sept. 18 due to rain.
Cross Country: 3:30 p.m., Westborough High School boys' and girls' cross country will face the Hudson Hawks on the road.
Boys' soccer: 3:30 p.m., Westborough high school heads back out on the road to face Hudson for the second time this year. Westborough won the first game, 3-2.
Girls' soccer: 3:30 p.m., Westborough High School girls' soccer will try to keep its hot play going as it hosts Hudson.
Dig Pink: 5-7:30 p.m., The fourth annual Dig Pink volleyball match will take place at Westborough High School to sponsor Breast Cancer Awareness. There will be a bake sale before and during the JV and varsity matches against Shrewsbury High School. Information about the event and how to make a donation can be found here.
Board of Selectmen Meeting: 6 p.m., There will be a scheduled meeting in the Town Hall's Selectmen Meeting Room.
Conservation Commission Meeting: 7 p.m., There will be a scheduled meeting in Room 23 of the Forbes Municipal Building.
Wednesday, Oct. 10
Golf: 3:30 p.m., Westborough will see Marlborough for the second time in two days, this time on the road at Marlborough CC.
Field Hockey: 4 p.m., Westborough High School field hockey will hit the road to take on North Middlesex at Sterilite Field.
Westbrough Athletics Boosters Meeting: 7 p.m., the boosters will meet to discuss final plans for the upcoming Week of Lights (Oct. 22-26) along with other events throughout the remainder of the year. All are welcome to attend.
Uno's Trivia Night: 7 p.m., Unos Chicago Grill at 225 Turnpike Road will host a trivia night where guests can test their knowledge and compete for prizes.
Thursday, Oct. 11
National Depression Screening Day: 10 a.m., National Depression Screening Day will be conducted by Westborough Youth and Family services. Free screenings will be offered all day in its office, Room 21 of the Forbes Municipal Building.
Two-Time: 10:30 a.m., Story time for children ages 2-3 will be at the Westborough Public Library.
Golf: 3:15 p.m., Westborough High golf finishes up its busy week with a home match against Nashoba at Westborough CC.
Boys' soccer: 4 p.m., The Westborough high Boys will host Groton-Dunstable with the hopes of getting some payback for the 4-0 shutout loss the Rangers took earlier this season.
Girls' soccer: 4 p.m., Westborough high Girls will hit the road to face Groton-Dunstable for the second time. The Rangers won the first match-up, 3-1, at home.
Volleyball: 5:15 p.m., After a rare day off, Westborough high will continue its difficult schedule as it hosts Central Catholic.
Board of Assessors Meeting: 9 a.m., There will be a scheduled meeting in the assessors' office at the Westborough Town Hall.
Friday, Oct. 12
Consign My Closet Sale: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m, Consign My Closet children resales will be conducted throughout the weekend at Porter & Chester Institute on Route 9 in Westborough. See Consign My Closet on Facebook and see photos of past sales
Field hockey: 3:30 p.m., Westborough high will go on the road to face Marlborough.
Volleyball: 5:15 p.m., Westborough high volleyball will play its third match in four days as it hits the road to face North Middlesex.
