What's Happening In Westborough This Weekend

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Leaves are changing and the temperature is dropping as Westborough prepares for another busy weekend, highlighted a children's concert, children's clothing sale and football grudge match against Shrewsbury.

Friday, Oct. 12

Consign My Closet: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., a children's clothing resale event will be held at Porter & Chester Institute.

Field hockey: 3:30 p.m., Westborough High will go on the road to face Marlborough. 

Volleyball: 5:15 p.m., Westborough High (10-2) will face North Middlesex on the road. 

Saturday, Oct. 13

Shredding event: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Digital Federal Credit Union on Lyman Street in Westborough will hold a free shredding event with prizes and giveaways. 

Consign My Closet: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., a children's clothing resale event will be held at Porter & Chester Institute.

Children's concert: 10:30 a.m., Children’s musician, Nick Deysher — who grew up in St. Stephen’s parish — and his wife, Tracey Freitag, will perform Nick’s music. It's guaranteed to get everyone up and moving.

Soccer: 11 a.m., Westborough High (5-2-2) will travel to Ludlow to play its first Saturday game of the season. 

Football: 2 p.m., Westborough (0-5) will head over to neighboring Shrewsbury High (4-1) to take on the Colonials in a game rescheduled from Friday night due to EEE concerns. 

Sunday, Oct. 14

Church yard sale: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., The Unitarian Universalist Congregational Society of Westborough will host a yard, book and bake sale at 64 W. Main St. 

Consign My Closet: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a children's clothing resale event will be held at Porter & Chester Institute with many items marked down to 50 percent off.

Westborough Community Land Trust Walk: 1 to 3 p.m., Walk a loop of trails in the Headwaters Conservation Area with Marge Fisher of the WCLT stewardship committee. The walk will start at Mill Pond School, wind to the Assabet River, around Osprey Point for a view of Mill Pond, then to Andrews St. butterfly garden and back to the school.
