Westborough Girl Scouts Hand Out Community Awards

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. - The Girl Scouts of Westborough take time every year to recognize those who put in the time to help their causes - most recently recognizing four community members for contributions. 

According to a news release, the following have received awards:

  • The Westborough Civic Club, which has been a partner with the Girl Scouts for 15 years. 
  • Christine Mauro of Avidia Bank, who has helped the troops set up bank accounts. 
  • May Jo Kurtz, who has helped the troops with media coverage.
  • Dave Kaiser, manager of Federal One Credit Union.

Heidi Alcock, Gretchen Clarke, Beth Arnold, Tricia Gunning, Diana Carlone and Kathy Lawrence all received the Outstanding Leader award.

The Outstanding Volunteer award was presented to Denise LeBlanc and Linda Bessell.

The Girl Scouts of Central and Western Mass. recognition program is still open, and nominations can be entered until Sunday, Feb. 10.
