WESTBOROUGH, Mass. ‒ Dave Read of Westborough returned to his home at 54 Glen St. just after 1 p.m. Monday to find that a large tree had fallen in his driveway.
"Every year we get trees that fall like this," he said, adding that he hadn't been inside yet, but wasn't expecting power. "We're always the first ones to lose [power] and we seem to be the last ones to get it back."
The tree in his driveway was one of three that fell in the Nourse Street area Monday afternoon. A portion of the road was blocked off at 1 p.m. Police expected the area to be cleared and power restored soon.
National Grid was reporting outages in the area affecting 44 customers.
