WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — The Bay State Commons committee has canceled Friday night's concert featuring Barbara Kessler due to Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) concerns.
Sally Johnson, the promoter for the Bay State concert series, said moving the concert indoors was an option, but decided against due to lack of interest. The concert was scheduled to run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Johnson said she is disappointed and would like to arrange the same lineup at a show in October at the Boroughs JCC if possible.
"I'm going to give [the artists] the opportunity for what i had promised them originally," Johnson said.
The sixth and final installment of the series is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 16, and will be sponsored by Westborough High School's class of 2013. Because it is the final installment of the series, the concert will be not be canceled. It will move indoors at Westborough High School if the weather is bad.
"[The seniors] have been coming to all of the shows and they love it," Johnson said.
