SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Shrewsbury weather analyst Jim Arnold is keeping an eye on an approaching storm on Tuesday.

According to Arnold, the storm will move mostly to the south after bring blocked by high pressure from the north.

According to the National Weather Service, the chance of precipitation is only around 30 percent during the day Tuesday, with a 20 percent chance Tuesday night.

According to Arnold, snow will arrive in the Central Massachusetts on Tuesday afternoon and continue into early Wednesday morning, accumulating 1 to 2 inches. This is a downgrade from the 3 to 6 inches that were originally expected.

Temperatures will hold in the 30s Tuesday possibly falling into the high 20s at night and rising to the low 30s again on Wednesday.

In its hazardous weather outlook, the NWS is warning of a slippery commute Wednesday, with a possibility of black ice on paved services.

Windy and cold weather is still on tap for the end of the week, with daytime temperatures reaching only in the 20s Friday and Saturday, falling to the low teens and high single numbers should there be a solid snow cover.
