WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Sign-ups are still ongoing for the weekend's safety program coordinated by Westborough mom Alisa Stone.
The program, run by SAM Training, was planned in response to the murder of Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott, and is titled "Empower the Girls We Love: Personal Safety Training 101."
A total of six courses will be held, split between Friday and Saturday.
Each class is three hours long. Time slots are from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at Tatnuck Booksellers in Westborough.
The class is being offered at a discounted rate of $35 per person, with all proceeds benefiting the Lizzi Marriott fund. To register for a course, follow this link.
Ellen Van Olden, co-founder of SAM trainisaid the course covers everything from defending against physical attacks, to how to think when encountering a dangerous situation.
