WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Local resident Gary Garner presented his proposal to build a portable sawmill at 9 Old Flanders Road, and Westborough Selectmen approved the plan, 3-0, at a meeting Tuesday.
Garner said the Midnight Wind Realty Trust Sawmill is extremely quiet, operating at a low decibel level.
"I couldn't believe it either," he said, commenting on the sawmill's reported lack of noise.
Garner said he met with building inspector Tin Tway, who encouraged him to bring the plan before the board to allow neighbors a chance to comment; no one expressed concerns during the meeting.
The mill will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., six days a week.
