'In Your Shoes' Hosts Bunco Tournament In Westborough

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — In Your Shoes will host a Bunco tournament Nov. 2 at the Westborough Knights of Columbus hall.

No prior knowledge of the game is required, as it is purely a game of chance. Registration will begin at 7:45 p.m. at the 17 Willow St. Hall.

There is a $10 suggested donation and refreshments will be provided.

In Your Shoes most recently completed its summer event, a "Pass The Torch" campaign. 

Torches materialized in Westborough yards, and residents responded generously. 

The program, tied in with the Olympic Games, was meant to help restock the Westborough Food Pantry over the summer, when donations generally tend to be lower. 

When a torch appeared in a yard around town, that meant the torch passed to that family. The torch meant they were being requested to donate, and then pass the torch to someone else.

The final count was more than 1,500 pounds of food and $625 in cash donations. 

"In Your Shoes is grateful for the help and enthusiasm of the Westborough Fire Department and the Westborough Public Library, who served as drop-off locations for the food," according to a new release.
