WORCESTER, Mass. - Priscilla L. (Messier) Blanchette, 83, of Worcester, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at home. Her husband, Gerard A. Blanchette, died in December 2011.
She leaves four children, Gary Blanchette of Worcester, John Blanchette of Rutland, Michele Blanchette of Worcester and Mark Blanchette of Worcester, three brothers, Rev. Gerard Messier, A.A., of New York City, Francis Messier and his wife Evelyn of Worcester, John Messier and his wife Anne of Westborough; a sister, Mary Ann Paquette and her husband Dr. Charles Paquette of Paxton; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Frances Messier of Sutton; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three brothers, Rene, Ronald, and Donald Messier.
She was born in Danielson, Conn., daughter of Arthur and Blanche (Peloquin) Messier, and lived in Worcester most of her life.
Priscilla was an international telephone operator for The New England Telephone Company. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, crocheting and knitting. She loved animals and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave, Paxton. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held at St. Columba Church from 10 to 11 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 20.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
