WESTBOROUGH, Mass. – Rose M. Spence McMorrow of Westborough died Jan. 5 at home, surrounded by family. She was 55.
McMorrow was born April 12, 1957, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to Marian H. Taphorn Roeder and Urban F. Roeder. She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1975 and received a bachelor's degree in horticulture from Iowa State University in 1979.
She was vice president of regional sales for Allied Solutions, where she worked for 30 years.
A resident of Westborough since 1994, McMorrow was active in her children’s school activities and coached her daughters in community basketball and softball.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing hybrid tea roses and making homemade raspberry preserves. McMorrow loved to play golf, and she and her husband were members of the Westborough Country Club.
She is survived by her husband, John P. McMorrow; two children, Sarah M. Spence and Kelly A. Spence, both of Westborough; two stepchildren, Peggy and Jack McMorrow; her mother-in-law, Nora McMorrow; and her former husband, William M. Spence.
McMorrow is also survived by 12 siblings, Kathleen Connors, Paul Roeder, Peter Roeder, Francis Roeder, David Roeder, Darlene Hentges, Aggie Gustafson, Margaret Spikes, Mary Jane Recker, Angela Welch, Joseph Roeder and Judy Krueger.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Old Westwood Cemetery in Westwood.
