Police Log: 10 Arrested In Westborough Last Week

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. ‒ A busy week for Westborough police began Monday afternoon, when eight protesters were arrested at a sit-in at TransCanada's Northeast headquarters. 

The protesters were: Shea M. Riester, 22, of  Brighton; Devyn Weis Powell, 20, of Lake Oswego, Ore.; Benjamin L. Thompson, 22, of Durham, N.H.; Benjamin J. Trolio, 22, of Burnt Hills, N.Y.; Lisa Rose Purdy, 20, of Waltham; Allison J. Welton, 20, of  Tonasket, Wash.; Dorian S. Williams, 20, of Chicago, and Emily Edgerly, 20, of Lexington. 

It took police three hours to extricate the protesters, who had chained themselves by the waist and feet and also super-glued their hands together. 

All eight are local college students and were charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing. 

Matthew Miles, 30, of Worcester, was arrested Saturday on a warrant. 

Rajesh Suresh Khare was arrested Sunday for assault and battery.
