WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Peter Broomes of Westborough was arraigned on charges of nighttime breaking and entering and destruction of property after police arrested him in his neighbor's bedroom last August.
Police were dispatched to 6 Garfield Drive on Aug. 28 for a report of an "unwanted guest," according to a report by Officer Joshua Croft.
Occupant Beth Blumberg told police she was awakened to her neighbor, Broomes, 33, of 4 Garfield Dr., in her bedroom "yelling uncontrollably" and "incoherently."
Police said they arrived to find Broomes laying face down on Blumberg's bed "rambling to himself" and holding a lamp in his left hand. Broomes was taken into custody after a brief struggle, the lamp breaking in the process.
Broomes was transported to UMass-Medical for observation. He was released following his Monday arraignment on personal recognizance with the stipulation that he stay away from Blumberg.
