WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — The dates have been announced for three debates between incumbent state Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) and challenger Dean Cavaretta (R-Stow). The two are competing to represent the Middlesex and Worcester District, which includes Westborough, Southborough and Precinct 3 in Northborough.
According to a press release from Cavaretta's office, the two candidates have agreed to three dates thus far:
Oct. 10: Ayer, sponsored by the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce. (Time/details TBD)
Oct. 15: in Sudbury sponsored by the Sudbury League of Women Voters. (7:30 p.m,/details TBD)
Oct. 16: in Marlborough sponsored by the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce. (evening event, 6:00 p.m.)
Oct. 17: 7:30 p.m. at the Acton TV studio in Acton, sponsored by Acton-TV and the Patch.com websites.
Oct. 24: in Marlborough at 82 Brigham Street again sponsored by the Marlborough Chamber (morning event, 7:45 a.m.).
Oct. 24: Acton Town Hall, sponsored by the Acton Area League of Women Voters. (Time TBA).
Cavaretta has also challenged Eldridge to a debate on WCRN 830 AM on the WCRN Morning News.
"My opponent and I have very different career backgrounds and, more importantly, very different views on how to improve the Massachusetts economy," Cavaretta said in the release. "In this important election, I look forward to giving the residents of the district and opportunity to learn more about me and where I stand on the issues."
