WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — The National Federation of Independent Business announced its endorsement today of Marty Lamb (R-Holliston) in his race for the 8th Middlesex District Representative seat, which serves Westborough and Southborough.
"Marty Lamb is the candidate in this race with the best grasp on small-business issues and he promises to fight for changes that will help our state's job creators — small businesses — grow jobs," Bill Vernon, NFIB-Massachusetts state director, said Tuesday in a news release.
Lamb, a small-business owner himself, said in accepting the endorsement he has promised to "promote and protect small businesses and their right to own, operate and grow."
"Small businesses are not looking for a hand out from government," Lamb said in the release. "They want certainty and government to get off their backs."
Lamb is running for the seat currently held by Carolyn Dykema (D-Holliston).

The National Federation of Independent Business is just that, INDEPENDENT. They have endorsed people on both sides of the aisle. That's bipartisan. They have endorsed a number of Democrats.
Marty Lamb has been endorsed by the Worcester Telegram on Wednesday as well which reaches two town in the district, his hometown of Southborough and also Westborough which this media outlet covers. I suppose Mr. Roney will call them a Republican Organization, too.
Mr. Roney's claims are ridiculous.
Ms. Dykema does everything she can to run from her voting record. She would never get an endorsement from organizations like CLT and NFIB which have the best interests of the taxpayers and job growth for our economy.
Not interested in spin, just in the truth, and here it is:
Every single Republican in the House voted more often with the GOP Leader than Carolyn voted with the Speaker. Every single one.
Yet, Carolyn still reached across the aisle to work with Matt Beaton (R-Shrewsbury) on veterans issues, including the Valor Act. She also worked with Sen. Richard Ross (R-Wrentham).
Further, she opposed the Speaker's number one legislative priority, casinos.
That's the record of someone who votes for bills that represent her district's interests and needs.
Ms. Dykema voted against an amendment to the casino bill which would have allocated a higher percentage of casino revenue to law enforcement in abutting towns.
Mr. Roney doesn’t look at the fact that Republicans in the House vote about 40% of the time with the Speaker. It is Republicans who vote bi-partisan. Democrats NEVER vote bi-partisan.
Ms. Roney can rant and rave and lie and spin all she wants...the hard cold facts of Dykema's voting record can never be spun...it is and will always be dismal. She is no bipartisan...she votes 95% of the time with the Dem Speaker of the House. Can't change that Roney...read 'em and weep.
More and more small business groups are endorsing Marty for his focus on fiscal responsibility and holding corrupt and incompetent Democrat politicians accountable. Marty is swaying voters who are on the fence which will be the difference in this race. We have a clear choice here on election. Marty is the candidate of the people and for the people, the candidate who will make job growth and personal integrity his priorities.
The other candidate is nothing but a tax and spend puppet for the Democrat machine on Bacon Hill, one who would tax the air you breathe if she could.
For those of us who have a working brain, I think the choice is obvious.
"Napolitano" is nfibbing!
I've proven before that NFIB is a Republican organization. Just look at my first comment.
The gist: NFIB has provided $3.3 million in political support this election cycle. Every last red cent has gone to help Republicans or to hurt Democrats.
There are partisan organizations that are less partisan than that.
Marty Lamb is an extreme partisan, and so is his campaign. They could still be honest, but they aren't.
From the beginning, the Lamb smear brigade has done nothing but sling mud at Carolyn. They started by attacking the car she drives! Unbelievable.
If you like civility in politics, you must punish the dirty campaigning of Lamb and his hired guns. They are by far the worst campaign I've ever seen for the state legislature.
The Worcester Telegram endorsed Marty Lamb for State Representative this morning as well. Everyone is seeing how great a candidate Marty Lamb is. http://www.telegram.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20121024/NEWS/110249918/1020/opinion#.UIhHCcXA-Uc
Kelly R is lying again. The National Federation of Independent Business is just that, INDEPENDENT.
The head of that organization, Bill Vernon endorsed Jim Timilty this year. He has endorsed Democrats Mike Rodrigues, Dave Torrisi, Colleen Garry, Harriett Stanley and others in the past. NFIB’s endorsements are based on legislators’ voting records during the two year legislative session with votes covering a wide range of issues like health care and health insurance, independent contractor law, unemployment insurance, and taxes. NFIB supports and endorses legislators who support lowering the cost of doing business, improving the business climate, and encouraging job growth among small businesses.
Marty Lamb is the choice of a truly independent bipartisan organization. Marty has been an unenrolled Independent voter for most of his life as well. He looks at the issues and will read the bill and do what's best for the district. We don't have that now on Beacon Hill. Ms. Dykema votes in lockstep with the Speaker from Winthrop 95% of the time. She has an extremely left wing voting record.
By the way, don't be surprised if the Lamb campaign uses some minor variation of my name to try to plant fake evidence of attacks on my part. These attacks simply did not happen.
The Lamb campaign, after all, trumped up vandalism to a car, tried to pin it on someone from Carolyn's campaign (which we would never, ever do), and then used it to raise money.
Yet they never produced any photos of the alleged vandalism.
Marty Lamb has run the most dishonest campaign I've ever seen at this level.
You'll notice that K Napolitano calls me a liar and then fails to address my comment at all - because I've proven my points.
The Lamb campaign repeatedly has its surrogates claim that my comments have been removed. This is a lie.
I have never attacked Lamb's religion. Never! Yet he has lied about this in the Hopkinton debate. This is how he treats people who disagree with him.
I have never made personal attacks on Lamb. It's completely relevant to tell readers that he and his struggling law firm filed for bankruptcy with $226K in debt and essentially no assets, especially since that gives the lie to his claims of fiscal responsibility and his small business experience.
Most bills that pass on Beacon Hill pass with overwhelming majorities. Carolyn in fact votes less often with the Speaker than every single GOP Representative votes with their Minority Leader. Every one!
The claim of "forced unionization" is a lie, too. The bill that passed allows unionization, doesn't force it.
So who is K Napolitano? There's a Kyle Napolitano registered to vote in Holliston, but he's an infrequent voter who only voted in 2008. At best, he's cutting and pasting from Lamb campaign emails. At worst, he's simply yet another alias of Desiree Awiszio, Marty's campaign manager.
I'll keep posting under my own name because I don't have to be ashamed of what I say. That's because I tell the truth and they think it's hell.
What a great endorsement. Only those in business really knows what it takes to grow jobs. The small business experience he will bring to the State House is So needed. When was the last time the incumbent owned her own business? Hmmmm.....She doesn't have a clue.
Folks, we need Marty and many more like him across the state to start changing the way the Democrats on Beacon Hill have been driving us into bankruptcy.
A little-noticed news article over the weekend – Ghana [tiny country in West Africa] just impounded Argentina's navy training ship – as security for $1.2 billion in junk bonds. When governments go bankrupt – everybody comes to pick their bones.
Consider:
Argentina Public Debt: $183 Billion [$4,500/person]
Massachusetts Public Debt: $103 Billion [$15,700/person]
US Public Debt: $16.2 Trillion [$51,500/person]
Massachusetts is not far behind the ENTIRE country of Argentina. Wow!
Carolyn Dykema has repeatedly demonstrated she either (a). doesn't understand, or (b). doesn't CARE - about the consequences of her 'progressive agenda'. She has done nothing but make things worse for us. Were you REALLY demanding that your day-care center be unionized?
Do you REALLY want her driving more jobs OUT of state?
Marty is a common-sense low-key guy who will serve the voters – not some inner agenda.
There he goes again, Mr. Roney couldn't tell the truth to save himself. His posts under various pseudo names have been repeatedly removed for lying on Metrowest Daily News online comments, and for making personal attacks against Marty Lamb, including his religion.
Lamb is the only one with the economic revival plan, and organizations who are for promoting private sector job growth see that. Thus the endorsements from Citizens for Limited Taxation and NFIB.
Ms. Dykema does everything she can to run and hide from her dismal anti-business voting record of raising taxes, burdening business, and killing jobs. She would never get an endorsement from organizations like CLT and NFIB which have the best interests of the taxpayer in mind and in heart.
CLT and NFIB are great watchdog organizations that look at the voting record of a legislator. That's the key. It's how they represent us on Beacon Hill. They can cut ribbons and pose for photo ops and hug kitties in the district, and then on Beacon Hill, march in like mind-numbed robots and watch for the light to see how the Speaker from Winthrop votes and follow the leader. This is what Ms. Dykema has done 95% of the time, lockstep voting with the left wing in her party.
Here is a piece of the anti business voting ratings of Dykema.
1. 13% rating with Citizens for Limited Taxation. That means she votes against taxpayers 87% of the time.
2. 38% rating from NFIB. That means she votes against small businesses 62% of the time
3. She voted for mandatory unionization of home day care centers
The choice is clear - State Representative Marty Lamb who will represent and vote for the taxpayers' interests, not the special interests and union interests like Ms. Dykema who has to vote the way the unions tell her to vote in order to get their money in her campaign coffers.
NFIB is a Republican lobbying group, so this is no surprise at all. When the Lamb brigade starts claiming NFIB is bipartisan, you'll know they're nfibbing.
In the 2012 cycle, NFIB has spent $3.3 million on elections, every red cent on behalf of Republicans or in opposition to Democrats.
Yes, I've previously posted only $1 million, but I've since found another set of expenditures, and they must have reported more, too. Here are the links so you can judge for yourself:

Republican State Rep., MBTA job under Republican Gov. Bill Weld, Republican Party executive director.
Bipartisan? Try just partisan.
