WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — The nomination deadline has come and gone for the Westborough town election, and two spots on the Library Board of Trustees garnered no interest.
Helena Engberg returned nomination papers for one of the three vacancies, but Geralyn Kohler and Karen Greigal have announced they will not seek re-election for the other two seats.
Anyone who is an eligible voter in the town of Westborough is encouraged to be a write-in candidate for the election Tuesday, March 5, Board of Trustees Chair Patricia Fontes said.
"It is an exciting time to serve as a trustee as we continue to map out our goals for the 21st century," Fontes said in a statement.
The nine-member board is tasked with determining policy and "ensuring that the library is adequately funded in order to provide excellent service" on behalf of the library, said Fontes.
Questions about the duties of a library trustee can be directed to Fontes by email, while questions about the write-in process can be directed to the town clerk's office at 508-366-3020.
