WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — The March 5 ballot will include contests for the Westborough Board of Selectmen and Housing Authority. However, two School Committee members will run for re-election unopposed.
Danielle Carrigo had taken out nomination papers to run for one of the open School Committee seats, but she did not return them by the Tuesday deadline. Stephen Doret and Bruce Tretter returned nomination papers to run for the seats they currently hold.
Francis Sowa and Stephen Faris returned nomination papers to run for a seat on the Board of Selectmen. The seats are currently held by the board's chair, Leigh Emery, and Tim Dodd, who both returned nomination papers.
The Housing Authority is guaranteed to have a new face as William Linnane and Jill Dupree face off for the three-year seat. Charles Naples, who currently holds the three-year seat, is the only candidate for the five-year seat.
Helena Engberg returned nomination papers for one of the three open seats on the Westborough Public Library Board of Trustees. The remaining seats will remain open, and the library has requested write-in candidates on election day.
Candidates have until Thursday, Jan. 31, to remove their names from the ballot.
