WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — It's time to get to know Westborough's candidates, and Sunday's annual candidate's forum will allow residents to do just that.
The event, sponsored by the Westborough Democratic Committee, will be held at the Willows building at 1 Lyman St., beginning at 6 p.m.
"This is a great opportunity to hear from those candidates seeking your vote in March and to ask questions of the candidates," said Kate Donaghue, chair of the Westborough Democratic Committee, in a news release. "Most candidates are planning to take part. We very much appreciate the citizens who serve the town so generously and who take the time meet with voters at Candidates Night."
The two contested races in the March 5 elections will be for the Board of Selectmen and Housing Authority.
Selectmen Leigh Emery and Tim Dodd, along with challenger Stephen Faris will speak.
Bill Linnane and Jill Dupree, the two candidates for the three-year seat on the Housing Authority will also speak.
"Democracy is not a spectator sport," Donaghue said in the release.
Candidates running unopposed for town positions will also speak, including:
- Bruce Tretter, School Committee
- Stephen Doret, School Committee
- Joanne Malozzi, Planning Board
- Charles Naples, Housing Authority (five-year)
- Helena Enberg, Library Board of Trustees
Engberg is the only candidate for the three open seats on the Library Board. Residents are encouraged to write in candidates on Election Day to fill the other two vacant seats.
Questions about the forum can be directed to the Westborough Democratic Committee by email.
