WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — A plan to add an extra half-day of classes in March or April was rejected by Westborough school officials.
Several parents spoke out against the half-day, intended to allow time to train teachers in the new evaluation standards adopted this year, Superintendent Marianne O'Connor said.
"We have worked around other ways to find other methods so that we don't interrupt student instruction," O'Connor said. "We've been real creative in figuring out ways to do that. We do listen."
She made the initial suggestion at a January school committee meeting.
