WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Adhithyan Krishnan was chosen through an essay contest to represent Westborough High School at the annual MassStar leadership conference.

Every year, the Westborough Woman's Club selects one sophomore to represent the town at the annual three-day conference.

"The MassSTAR Citizenship Conference presents three days of intensive programming to challenge the student delegates, broaden their perspectives and bring out their inner leaders," a statement from the group said.

"We take these young people and demonstrate to them that they can be proactive leaders in their own communities. These students then take these skills and bring them back to their home school environments."

This year's conference was held at Lasell College from June 8 to 10.

Krishnan is also a pole vaulter on the high school track team; participates in martial arts and rec basketball; plays Indian drums; and is active in the fine arts department.
