Boys soccer

Westborough 2, Nashoba 0: Loic Pennick and Brendan Goodliffe both scored in the first half, and goalie Michael Hillier held Nashoba scoreless as Rangers boys soccer (1-0-1) won its first game on the season.

Goodliffe's goal was his second in two games.

"We dominated the game in the first half," first-year varsity coach Michael Griffin said.

After a season that saw Rangers soccer win just two games, Griffin said the positive start is encouraging for a group that has looked good in every game thus far.

"It's been a strong start including the scrimmages. ... They're certainly looking confident," Griffin said.
