WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Three Westborough siblings, Ries, Max and Sophie Scerbin, were each gold medalists at the NASTAR Eastern Ski Championships in Ludlow, Vt.
Former Olympian A J Kitt presented the three with their gold medals, according to a news release.
The three later competed in the "race of champions," pitting all of the first-place finishers against one another. Sophie finished second overall in the "raw time" women's race. Max and Ries finished in the top 10 of the men's side.
The Scerbins also competed in a team race, finishing third overall, and won a gold medal for being the fastest family.
Sophie and Max, who are ranked in the top 10 of the NASTAR field, said they are planning to compete in the national championships in March, in Aspen, Colo. Ries has also qualified, and will be competing in nationals with his brother and sister.
Sophie is a student at Hastings Elementary School, Max at Mill Pond School and Ries at Gibbons Middle School in Westborough.
