"Studies have proved that children enrolled in daycare at an early age are ready to go to school starting in kindergarten."
This is a pretty bold statement, I have met many kids that have been in daycare and are definitely NOT ready to go to Kindergarten. I chose to SAHM because of financial reasons, and my child was 110% ready for school when the time came.
In regards to the article, if subsidies are cut for those who need them, it's going to put strain back in the system somewhere. I think it's hard to find balance between what you do and do not cut. View Comment
It's not just that demographic that is at risk. It's EVERYBODY. I contracted Lyme Disease from a bite in my back yard last year. Something needs to be done. View Comment
LOL at "Help save our country, vote Romney/Ryan" I have a cape you can give him. Super Mittens away!
Has anyone actually visited Politifact to make sense of the propaganda BS from both sides? I suspect not. View Comment
I walk my dog through several times a week on a leash, never on the grassy areas though. As long as owners are responsible with their pets I have no issue with it. View Comment
They are rare, but orange/white female cats DO exist. My mother owns one.
Amy, she's lovely. I am a sucker for the orange/ginger cats. I have one of my own! View Comment
Too bad I'm not a student then, I'd probably enjoy them.
Oh well, guess I will be going to my hometown of Bolton to enjoy their modern, up to date library expansion.
What a shame for the town. What happens now then? What plan is in place in light of this NO vote? View Comment
Where does it say they admitted to anything? I'm reading the article and Poler's exact quote is
"You've got to remember at a time like this, that signs don't vote. You've got to have the people come on voting day," said Poler. "I've been waiting for this day for six years. Let the voters have their will. If they don't want it, we'll need to do something else."
Don't put words in people's mouths. Come on, even for a NO voter that's a bit of a low. View Comment
Pardon me? Who was I insulting exactly? Misinformed is hardly an insult. Just a fact. And nowhere in my comment did I say anything about financials for this. I was speaking of the fact that some no voters do not take the time to read through publicly available records for the library. Would I like a low tax rate? Sure. Will I accept a higher tax rate for a decade in order to have properly functioning town utilities? Of course. Is it unfortunate everything seems to be "happening at once" Yup you bet. To lose out on a large grant is an opportunity lost forever. It could have been awarded to any town in the state, but it was awarded to Grafton. I say let's put it to good use. View Comment
You always have to have the last word don't you Virgil? This space will be invaluable going forward for community meetings and activities that my kids would otherwise be unable to attend because of space limitations. View Comment
1. As far as I know Nelson is not part of the town library system anymore so please explain how that is going to work with my current card.
2. Nelson is not ADA compliant. You can get a wheelchair in sure, but it's not up to code.
3. Moving the children's section there is just plain silly. You think there's little usage of the library now, wait until the kids section moves there. I won't be using it. I'd rather go into Whitinsville where all the books are in one place.
And I agree with John, has this "committee" been formally registered? View Comment
Oh dear, another letter full of misinformation from another voter. Please actually use your common sense to read ALL Information before you write a letter complaining about your taxes. This library is not a "want", more a long overdue "need". View Comment
What if I want to get a book at out at the same time as my kids? This involves an extra trip and extra time I just don't have. The fact that this option is even being presented by the naysayers boggles my mind.
Also, are you prepared to foot the whole bill for the library in the future when you shoot this one down? I bet you'll have something to say about that too.
Please use your head to vote not your wallet. This is for future generations, not just the here and now. View Comment
