We understand you're embarrassed Kelly, - after all the love and attention you've devoted to Mz. Dykema. Everyone who voted for her should be embarrassed. She let you all down.
We just think your time would be better spent meeting with her and trying to explain to her why voters find her arrogance and her lies repugnant.
You're not going to change our minds; – BUT, you might be JUST the guy to help her understand... We wish you luck! View Comment
Gee Carolyn, I can't figure out if your splitting hairs, - hiding behind the bushes and weeds, - or just saying '...the dog ate my promise'.
If the US House and Senate can post votes - in the 21st Century, - so can Beacon Hill.
Now this dead albatross is hanging around your neck. You made a promise to vote YES, - then you voted 'NO'.
The voters don't want excuses. They don't want to hear about 'full committee hearings' and 'public hearings' – THEY WANT TO SEE RESULTS!
Get your voting records on line. Go BIG, - or GO HOME! View Comment
My math may be off a day or so, but Dykema seems to have broken not just her PROMISE, but a land speed record for doing so, - just 75 days from Election Day to BROKEN PROMISE!
Lisa, I'm sorry you were disappointed. But then,...you had trusted her to keep her word. That was your first mistake - thinking that she is either honorable, - or that she cares about us 'little people'. Neither is true, as she has proven so many times.
As a Ma$$ Taxocrat, Mz. Dykema will always vote the way the $peaker tells her to. If you want 'transparency' - look out a window, - not into her votes.
They're in a world of their own down on Beacon Hill - and they think it's none of your business! View Comment
With arrogance and disdain for the voters so typical of this new generation of 'liberal government elites' - Dykema brazenly lied through her pretty teeth last fall to get re-elected.
Then it was back to business as usual.
She's voted EXACTLY the way the Speaker tells her to. The only thing 'transparent' is her stiff-arming the people of her district.
Her local cheer leaders won't care. They'll defend her arrogance to the death. All those union guys who turned out for her - do you think they care about votes posted on line? They too do exactly what they're told.
When will Mass voters wake up, and rise up to break this cycle?
Come 2014, Dykema will again be making the rounds, asking for donations and telling you what a great job she's been doing. Will you buy it again, - or will you remember her lies? View Comment
Please show us the letters and petitions from folks in the district who were begging to have thair neighborhood daycare centers unionized. View Comment
When a person runs for legislative office we have a right to expect them to READ the bills, and understand the long-term consequences.
Dykema FAILS that basic test.
She votes with the 'leadership' – i.e. with Speaker Bob DeLeo and the other union hacks.
Just Thursday afternoon we learned about the $500.oo SEIU contribution she FAILED to report.
And FYI, the large daycare factories were DELIGHTED with the bill – because it will force many home centers to CLOSE, - thus driving business into their high-priced arms. It is the working moms and their kids who get shafted – something Dykema FAILED to envision. View Comment
Your points on the unionization of home daycare is just the tip of the iceberg Don.
The REAL ISSUE is an incumbent progressive who is unable to think and visualize unintended consequences,...vs...
...a thoughtful [and legally trained] challenger who understands that a bill that 'seems good' may have long-term and harmful consequences for our state.
He also understands that 'government' is NOT the solution to every problem in our lives or our towns.
By contrast, Dykema is beholding to unions like the Teachers and the SEIU, so she will side with with their interests each and every time, - then use her charm to spin it as a 'good thing'. People are beginning to catch on.
Marty has no special interests backing him – just ordinary citizens – the ones fed up with the obnoxious kind of corrupt and bloated government we've had here for 60 years under one-party rule.

This is not an easy or enthusiastic vote for me. I campaigned hard for Scott in the winter of 2009-10, and have been disappointed that he so often votes with the Democrats.
BUT, Warren is a lifetime left-wing liar, hypocrite, and fraud. She would quickly become the Senate version of Barney Frank or Nancy Pelosi.
As an Obama handmaiden, the thought of her casting votes on national defense, on intelligence matters, on judges and ambassadors – is frightening! View Comment
Folks, we need Marty and many more like him across the state to start changing the way the Democrats on Beacon Hill have been driving us into bankruptcy.
A little-noticed news article over the weekend – Ghana [tiny country in West Africa] just impounded Argentina's navy training ship – as security for $1.2 billion in junk bonds. When governments go bankrupt – everybody comes to pick their bones.
Consider:
Argentina Public Debt: $183 Billion [$4,500/person]
Massachusetts Public Debt: $103 Billion [$15,700/person]
US Public Debt: $16.2 Trillion [$51,500/person]
Massachusetts is not far behind the ENTIRE country of Argentina. Wow!
Carolyn Dykema has repeatedly demonstrated she either (a). doesn't understand, or (b). doesn't CARE - about the consequences of her 'progressive agenda'. She has done nothing but make things worse for us. Were you REALLY demanding that your day-care center be unionized?
Do you REALLY want her driving more jobs OUT of state?
Marty is a common-sense low-key guy who will serve the voters – not some inner agenda. View Comment
Massachusetts is plagued by a unique East / West Coast phenomena – where scores of liberal politicians say normal-sounding stuff when they're campaigning, - then go act on their own personal liberal biases and agendas once in office.
Most often this happens because they think of themselves as more informed, more enlightened, and 'more caring' than us 'ordinary people'.
They ~ think ~ we won't find out. Often they're right, because the average voter doesn't track their voting record – even when it IS published.
But sometimes they get caught in their duplicity, and are exposed. I'm still waiting to see the reams of petitions from voters demanding to have their neighborhood family cay care provider unionized. View Comment
