Retired Lt. Matthew David Rawding, 64, of Morris Plains, died on Wednesday, Sept. 23, after what his department described as a "courageous fight." He was 64 years old. Born in Orange on Oct. 4, 1961, Rawding spent part of his childhood in Glen Ridge and Illinois before his family settled in Convent Station, according to his obituary on the Doyle Funeral Home website.
